Vince DiGirolamo
Instructing Assistant
Originally from Marsala, Sicily, Vince immigrated with his family to Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he later became a naturalized U.S. citizen during a three-year enlistment in the U.S. Army, ultimately attaining the rank of Sergeant. After his military service, he began a career in federal civil service, working in financial management and budgeting in Virginia before transferring to Fort Gordon, Georgia. There, he retired as the Financial Manager (Comptroller) for the U.S. Army Signal Center and Fort Gordon.
Vince’s dance journey began in Virginia, sparked by a spontaneous night out at a small bar that had just started using a DJ. Up until then, his musical tastes leaned toward classic rock artists like ZZ Top, Eric Clapton, and Bob Seger. That night, the pulsing beats of disco and club music drew him to the dance floor. The DJ, who happened to be a ballroom dance instructor, introduced him to the world of partner dancing. Vince quickly fell in love with social dances, especially the Hustle and other club-style rhythms.
After moving to Georgia, work kept him away from dancing for a time, but he eventually reconnected with his passion through the Hustle in Atlanta group, where he remains an active participant.
Upon retiring, Vince returned to ballroom dancing with Ballroom in Motion. Since 2017, he has served as a Pro Partner in Dancing Stars of Augusta, an annual fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Foundation. He continues to train with top Hustle professionals, attend workshops, and teach at Ballroom in Motion as an assistant in evening group classes. Vince is also available for private lessons.
